An Opening; 2022; Found Objects, LED light, 82ft x 14ft x4”ft

During my first visit to “The Playground” I took photos and gathered objects. Among the objects was this piece of chain-link fence that had a peculiar bend. I was intrigued because the bend was evidence of time passed, of something that happened, rendering the fence useless. I added the strip of light to highlight the bend, and turn it into a portal.

To complete the sculpture, I scavenged for a pole for the fragment to be attached. I cut the pole from a fence that was in use but unnecessary. Then I buffed and polished the galvanized steel of the fence components to elevate it into something irregular.
