This geoglyph is located at an empty lot in Long Island City Queens and points to the direction of the rising and setting sun on the summer solstice. The property is owned by real estate developers Criterion Group LLC which owns properties across the USA in 11 different states. I made my way on to the lot and carved the concrete foundation using an angle grinder overthe course of several days.

I'm thinking about future of humanity, the resiliency of humans, and our inherent connection to the sun and earth. I often think of the past, present, and future of a site within the context of capitalist fueled climate catastrophe.

I wanted the design to be between the Nazca Lines, the most famous geoglyphs, and crop circles, to evoke a future human.

Drone documentation was made possible by Max Hull.

Here is my original design for the geoglyph. After I was stopped one day by the police,  I modifyed it so it could be completed faster.

My First chalk drawing of the Geoglyph. I used a regular compas to get the direction of the sunrise and sunset. I made a compas by drilling into the foundation and attaching a string to make the concentric circles.
